THE first official photographs from Kate Ritchie’s weekend wedding were released late yesterday – with the pictures showing a serene Ritchie looking very much in love with new husband Stuart Webb.
The actress and the former Dragons star, whose day was further enhanced by his team’s win against the Tigers in the NRL, invited only closest family and friends – about 50 people – for their Saturday celebration.Yesterday sources said Ritchie, 32, was “deliriously happy” with the way her three-day wedding festival, which she organised herself, had come together.
Wearing an off-the-shoulder bridal gown by Sydney designer Steven Khalil, the little girl who grew up on the set of Home And Away and is now a star on Cops L.A.C. was given away by her father Steve and attended by her sisters Rebekah and Susan.
The custom-made gown of guipure lace was delicately hand-beaded with a cinched 1950s silhouette waistline and tulle skirt. Ritchie carried a clustered bouquet of white garden-style roses and ranunculus. Webb, in a French navy Hugo Boss suit, was attended by longtime friends Wade Humphreys and Tom McMaster.
Although it had rained all morning at the historic Quamby Estate in Hagley near Launceston, the skies cleared about 1pm (AEST), providing for an outdoor ceremony.
At 3pm (AEST) the bride walked the short distance from the colonial homestead to an ancient tree to meet the footy player turned mining executive who has been her partner for the past two years.
Yesterday the couple said it was “exactly the day we had hoped and planned for. A celebration of our love and commitment, surrounded by our most dear family and friends. We are so very happy to be husband and wife.”
TV Tonight can reveal another blast from the past is about to return to Home and Away.
The actor was a regular on the show a decade ago and returns to screens later this year.
Their return follows Emily Symons returning to Summer Bay as fan favourite Marilyn Chambers.
Hint: the character was a foster child…. that should narrow it down!
The 32-year-old actress, who is best known for her long-running role as Sally Fletcher in Australian soap Home and Away, is believed to be marrying rugby league star Stuart Webb in a private ceremony in Tasmania this weekend.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Ritchie has asked the Aussie gown designer to create a traditional dress for her, despite rumours that Australia’s Next Top Model judge Alex Perry would be designing one.
Ritchie reportedly flew to Tasmania earlier this week, along with rumoured bridesmaid Bec Hewitt.
Meet Dan Ewing, who will play ‘Heath Braxton’, part of a new family arriving in Home and Away later this year.
The actor is also the face of underwear line, recently causing a stir on the runway at Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival when he took to the catwalk in his MensFit and a tool belt.
Ewing had a guest role in the Seven soap in 2007, where his character Reuben Humphries had a romance with Matilda Hunter.
He has also had roles in shows such as Rescue Special Ops, Power Rangers: RPM and the Claudia Karvan drama Spirited.
Ada Nicodemou and Chrys Xipolitas are enjoying a “second honeymoon”, according to reports.
A friend of the actress told Woman’s Day magazine: “They spent Father’s Day together with their families and seemed so in love with each other again.”
Another source added: “At the moment they feel like honeymooners. But then things between them were never as bad as everyone tried to make out. The problems they had earlier this year were not so much to do with their marriage, as Chrys’s mental state.”
Sooner after their split, Xipolitas checked himself into a Sydney clinic because of his alleged battle with depression.
